| Build Your Case for Attending VMware Explore 2026 VMware Explore | Blogpost |
| We get it—getting your manager’s green light to attend a big event like VMware Explore isn’t always easy. Between budget constraints, busy schedules, and a mountain of priorities, securing approval can feel like an uphill battle. Your manager doesn’t just want a list of sessions. | VCF Automation Network Profiles VMware Explore | Blogpost |
| VCF Automation Network Profiles are a powerful way to define networks and associated settings to Cloud Accounts and/or Regions. I’ve recently deployed VCF Automation 8.18.1 (but this also works for VCF Automation 9 VM Apps) and would like to start deploying VMs on an IP Block for testing purposes. Here’s how I did it. I first setup my Cloud Account via Assembler – Infrastructure – Connections – Cloud Accounts. This is your connection to the vCenter you’ll be deploying VMs into. | |
| vSphere Tags and Custom Attributes in VCF Operations VMware Explore | Blogpost |
| We’ve discussed vSphere Tags and Custom Attributes a couple times. Both are very powerful, yet quite different in terms of how they present in VCF Operations. Have a look. | |
| CPU, Disk, Network, and Memory Workload Profiles for DVD Store Database Testing VCF Performance | Blogpost |
| DVD Store, an open source database testing toolkit, has been widely used since it was originally released in 2005. It can be run on SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases. DVD Store simulates an online store where users log in, browse, review, rate, and purchase DVDs. It uses many common database features including stored procedures, indexes, foreign keys, full text search, multi-join complex queries, and transactions. DVD Store was originally developed and designed to be a database workload that is CPU intensive. It has also always included parameters that can be used to alter this CPU-intensive profile, allowing for network-, disk-, and even memory-intensive profiles. | |
| Stop Guessing: Advanced Monitoring and Troubleshooting for Data Services VMware Explore | Blogpost |
| If you’ve ever been on a bridge call trying to identify why a production application is lagging, you know the frustration of “The Blame Game.” The app team blames the database, the DBA blames the storage, and the infrastructure team points at the network. In a traditional siloed environment, finding the root cause often requires correlating logs from three different consoles while the clock is ticking. With VMware Data Services Manager (DSM), we are putting an end to the guesswork. By providing deep, granular visibility into database internals and unifying that data within the broader VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) operations layer, we’re giving practitioners the tools to move from reactive firefighting to proactive optimization. | |

| Lessons from an Upgrade to VCF 9 Virtually Speaking Podcast | Podcast |
| In this episode of Virtually Speaking, we sit down with a real customer to unpack their journey from a global vSphere environment to VMware Cloud Foundation 9. From early planning and architecture decisions to unexpected challenges and lessons learned along the way, this is a candid look at what a large-scale migration actually looks like in the real world. We cover everything from consolidating global data centers and deploying VCF 5.2 to making the leap to VCF 9.0, including why features like simplified lifecycle management and Private AI played a key role in the decision. If you’re planning a migration or just want to hear how others are approaching modernization with VCF, this episode is packed with practical insights you can apply right away. | |
| An update on all things Memory Tiering featuring Arvind Jagannath! Unexplored Territory #117 | Podcast |
| Arvind is back to provide an update on all things Memory Tiering. The interest in Memory Tiering is high due to insane memory prices and supply chain issues. Arvind goes over the basics of memory tiering and provides an insight into what to expect in the upcoming release of VCF/vSphere when it comes to Memory Tiering! Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts (bit.ly/4tChsfH), Spotify (bit.ly/4mYpQ6O), watch it on Youtube, or just use the embedded players below. | |

| Hypervisor Blind Spots: Compliance, Liability, and Financial Sector Risk VMUG | 05/07/26 Webinar |
| Hypervisors have long been overlooked in compliance frameworks and audit processes, leaving a critical gap in financial institutions’ risk posture. Beginning with MITRE ATT&CK v17 elevating virtualization-layer techniques and auditors beginning to scrutinize this gap, recent attacks by groups like Scattered Spider have raised the stakes—including personal liability for CISOs. This session breaks down regulatory expectations, reporting obligations, and emerging accountability risks, giving attendees practical steps to close compliance gaps and strengthen governance to avoid costly breaches and legal exposure. | |
